Have heard a lot about blockchain but find difficult to understand the application of this technology? The best way to figure it out is to join Imaguru Blockchain Hackathon in Seoul on October 26-28. 48 hours of non-stop hacking will be dedicated to blockchain: revolutionary technology that is expected to reshape all the aspects of our business life in near future.

What is this all about?

A hackathon is a competition of teams that elaborate solutions and develop their projects on blockchain. The aim of the hackathon is to gather blockchain experts, developers, startups, IT companies and corporations in order to develop, enforce, and accelerate new solutions and innovations.

A hackathon is extremely effective for both sides: participants and partner corporations. Participants will be able to form their teams, get exclusive access to international mentors and – who knows? – will have a chance to find their future investors. Corporations and blockchain companies will be able to develop and test new solutions on blockchain and make the best use of networking.

Who organizes the event?

The hackathons is fueled by synergy of international and Korean partners and supporters.

Imaguru Startup Hub, a center of startups development and blockchain expertise based in Madrid, Spain and Eastern Europe, is the organizer and tech knowledge provider. Imaguru has organized more than 60 hackathons worldwide and raised more than 250 startups, so it brings best and unique experience to the event.

IE Business School, internationally recognized business school whose mission is to educate global professionals and spread innovations all over the world, supports the hackathon as a local partner.

And there are more local partners such as My Workspace coworking, Square Vanguard Startup Accelerator, European Chamber of Commerce in Korea and  Amazon Web Services Korea.

And the agenda?

On Friday, October 26, the hackathon kicks off. Preselected teams will work hard during the whole weekend to create blockchain solutions. The teams will pass through several checkpoints during the hackathon where their progress will be assessed (and this is not as scary as it seems because teams will get help from best developers from Eastern Europe and international mentors). The results of the 48-hour hacking marathon, ready prototypes, will be presented on Sunday, October 28, in front of the international jury.

Winners will enjoy prizes from Imaguru and other partners together with access to mentoring and investment for further development of their projects. And don’t forget about the most valuable prize: unique, challenging and cool experience of non-stop hacking in the company of experts and technology geeks who will infect you with their passion about blockchain.

Who can apply?

The hackathon is open to all technology enthusiasts, owners of idea, developers and startups that want to learn new and valuable insights about blockchain technology, build up their products as well as get valuable connections. The best thing about the application is that it is free of charge.

Still… what is special about the hackathon?

It is never over: once you enter the world of the blockchain, you dive into the community where you meet new people for your team, get mentorship and tech support and find yourself in the middle of the flow of new ideas.
